April 12, 2016 (Washington, DC) –the Congressional Black Caucus and National Minority Quality Forum awarded a Life time Achievement Award to Joel Freedman at the Annual National Minority Quality Forum Summit on Health Disparities and
CBC Spring Health Braintrust. This prestigious award is presented to individuals who have worked in practice and public policy to improve health disparities. Past awardees include Assistant Democratic Leader Jim Clyburn, Congresswoman Maxine Waters, Surgeon General Vivek Murthy and former Phrma President and CEO, John Castellani.

His work in California and with Howard University Hospital in Washington DC has saved many necessary safety net hospitals.
